A corrosion-resistant material is inserted into a carbon steel pipe under high fluid pressure and the two are mechanically connected. This creates a durable and reliable solution for use in highly corrosive environments. Flexibility in the choice of materials - from austenitic and ferritic materials to aluminum, copper or titanium - enables tailor-made solutions for a wide range of requirements.

Our longitudinal seam strip cladding systems also offer you an economically advantageous process for the production of longitudinally welded clad or bi-metal pipes. Using the electric slag welding process (RES), we ensure uniform surface coverage and outstanding corrosion resistance - perfectly tailored to the high requirements of the oil and gas industry. The integration into existing large-diameter pipe production lines brings you economic benefits with maximum process reliability and minimum susceptibility to faults.

Clad pipe technology

AWS Schäfer's clad pipe technology offers you a cost-effective solution for pipes that have to withstand extreme corrosive conditions in the oil and gas industry. Hydromechanical cladding firmly bonds a corrosion-resistant liner and a carbon steel pipe using high-pressure fluid. This technology enables flexible material combinations, such as ferritic and austenitic steels, as well as aluminum or titanium as liners. The clad pipes produced on our machines offer high corrosion resistance and precise dimensional tolerances, combined with low susceptibility to defects and low investment costs.

Submerged arc welding (SAW)

The submerged arc welding systems (SAW) from AWS Schäfer offer you maximum efficiency and quality when welding long seams! Our systems can be configured flexibly with up to five welding heads and energy-saving inverter technology.
